Devlog 002 - Shaved Down to the Hull


Core Rules Changes:

  • Added page numbers to the table of contents
  • Added new Parts for Captain, Crew, Ship which help explain how to complete the playsheet
  • Moved QuickStart rules to a separate document
  • Removed the Reference section until rules are further along
  • Removed section numbers
  • Fixed 2d6 tables to start with 2 and end with 11
  • Fixed various formatting issues and typos
  • Removed the Before You Embark section and rewrote it as Core Rules
  • Reduced the number of entries in the Event tables
  • Removed outdated rules references in the Events tables in the Playsheets
  • Added the Events tables to the rulebook
  • Tightened up the events to save space and make it faster to read
  • Rewrote the Quirk tables as simpler d6 tables, and removed the escalation mechanic (tiers) to simplify things. I also ditched the Ship upgrades idea. It was just bloat.
  • Removed Ship Attributes of P/I/S (Power, Integrity, and Speed) from Ship descriptions. Leftover from a more complex earlier iteration.

Playsheet Changes:

  • Updated front side of the playsheet to match the changes in the core rules
  • Updated the rules summary on the back side to match rules in v1.1
  • Removed the Standard Ship Positions since I removed individual crew in favor of treating the crew as a whole
